Nancy Evans

The Confab is hosted by award-winning interviewer Nancy Evans.

She is best known as the Co-Founder of iVillage, the internet pioneer credited with introducing women to the web and which was the sixth largest IPO when it went public.

She was the President and Publisher of Doubleday where she was famously Jackie O’s boss, and the Editor-in-Chief of Time Inc.’s Book-of-the-Month Club. She founded Family Life magazine, which she published in partnership with Wenner Media and which was nominated for the National Magazine Award in General Excellence in its first year.

 

Nancy was cohost of First Edition, a national PBS show where she interviewed authors such as Joseph Heller, Raymond Carver, and Toni Morrison. She is the recipient of the prestigious Matrix Award from Women in Communications and the Gracie Award from Women in Television.

She has written two New York Times bestsellers (How to Get Happily Published and Goodbye, House), along with writing columns for Glamour and Redbook and contributing articles to many other magazines, including the Harvard Business Review, The New York Times Book Review and Harper’s Magazine. She has appeared on The Today Show, GMA, and 60 Minutes. She is an investor in several startups, and has consulted to ABC, Unilever and Verizon.
